Art in the landscape can take on many forms and the European Landart Network will explore some of the consequences of commissioning artists creating new Land Art works in site specific locations in different European countries. We are now Land Art organizations from Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden, France and the United Kingdom. And our connection with the earth is paramount and art makes a significant contribution to our philosophical and cultural perception of the landscape. 


Arte Sella

Arte Sella is an international outdoor exhibition of contemporary art set up in 1986 in the fields and woods of the Val di Sella in the italian province of Trento. Arte Sella is both a qualified exhibition of artistic works and, most importantly, an ongoing creative process in which Land Art can be actually followed as it grows and evolves.

Centre of Polish Sculpture

The Centre of Polish Sculpture (CRP) in Orońsko continues the tradition of the Polish painter Józef Brandt and the Free Orońsko Academy. In 1965 the centre started with creative stays and an open-air exhibition of artists. Today it presents art from 19th century and Polish and foreign contemporary art.

Musée Gassendi

Since 1995 the Museum Gassendi and Art Center CAIRN worked together to deploy a collection of works on the territory through public orders. Gradually, an important set of permanent works was produced in the natural environment, which covers over 200 000 hectares.

Springhornhof Foundation

The Springhornhof Foundation, based in the nature park Lüneburger Heide in the north of Germany, shows works of international artists in forest glades and meadows. The art association is the original initiator of this network and supports and promotes the notion of artistic engagement with nature, the countryside and village life.

Wanås Konst

Wanås in Östra Göinge in northeastern Skåne, Sweden is a place in the world where art, nature, and history meet. Wanås Arts produces, presents, and communicates contemporary art to both the initiated and the novice. All activities at Wanås are characterized by a strong commitment to the environment.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is an open-air gallery “without walls” in Yorkshire, England, showing works by British and international artists. The park is situated in the grounds of the historical estate Bretton Hall, surrounded by landscape features and architectural structures from the 18th century.
